Learn more about fire rated glass and framing through our case studies. We highlight innovative design applications in real-world settings and show how architects continue to push the boundaries of what fire rated glass and framing can do.
After learning about the hazards of traditional wired glass and changes in the building code, MIddlebury College acted quickly to survey and catalogue every piece of traditional wired glass panel on campus. They created a spreadsheet noting the location and sizes of over 1500 pieces of traditional wired glass in doors and windows. Then, Middlebury set out to replace the wired glass with clear, safe, fire rated alternatives.
